Terms of service
Last updated October 16, 2026. Draft for review — plain language, same as the privacy policy.
These terms cover your use of Text7 (text7.co), a writing studio run by Icon 1 Agency (“Text7”, “we”). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Text7.
1. The service
Text7 lets you write, organize and develop manuscripts, scripts, speeches and articles, with optional AI assistance and image and audio generation. Text7 is invite-only and in active development: features change, some are marked “coming”, and we may add, alter or remove features without notice. We aim for reliability but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to hold an account.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for everything done under your account; tell us straight away if you think it has been compromised (Settings → Account → Sign out other devices ends every other session).
- One person per account. Projects can be shared with collaborators from inside the app.
3. Your writing stays yours
You own everything you create in Text7 — manuscripts, chapters, characters, scripts, notes, uploaded art and recordings. We claim no rights in it. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store it, show it to the people you share it with, back it up, and run the features you ask for (for example sending a chapter to an AI model you’ve triggered). We do not use your writing to train AI models, and we do not sell it or show it to anyone you haven’t shared it with.
4. AI-assisted features
- Features marked ✦ send the text you choose to an AI provider (currently Anthropic for text, Hedra for images, ElevenLabs for narration) to produce assessments, drafts, frames or audio. Those outputs are generated, not reviewed by a person; check them before relying on them.
- Outputs are yours to use. We make no claim to them and no promise about their originality, accuracy or fitness for any purpose.
- Generated images and audio may resemble existing works or voices by chance; you are responsible for how you use them.
5. API keys you connect
You may connect your own provider keys in Settings → Connections. When you do:
- The key is yours, and so are all charges the provider bills on it. Text7 cannot see, limit or control what a provider charges; setting a spend limit where the key was created is your responsibility.
- We store the key encrypted, use it only for requests you trigger, never log it, show it again only as its last four characters, delete it when you click Remove, and delete it automatically after 90 days without use.
- Any limits Text7 applies (calls per hour, a monthly number you set) are courtesy limits on call counts, not a cap on cost or a guarantee.
- Your use of each provider is also governed by that provider’s own terms.
6. The Text7 house key
At our discretion we may let some accounts use Text7’s own provider keys for AI, image or narration features, within daily and monthly allowances we set. This is a courtesy for development and testing: allowances can change or stop at any time, and nothing here obliges us to provide AI features without a key of your own.
7. Acceptable use
Don’t use Text7 to store or generate content that is illegal, that infringes someone else’s rights, that sexualizes minors, that harasses or threatens a real person, or that is designed to deceive (impersonation, fraud). Don’t probe, overload or reverse-engineer the service, share your login, or use automation against the app without our agreement. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we comply with lawful requests from authorities.
8. Content you upload
By uploading text, images or audio you confirm you have the right to do so. If someone tells us content in a shared project infringes their rights, we may remove it and will tell the project owner.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using Text7 at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the privacy policy for how). We may suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, or close the service with reasonable notice; in either case you can export your data first from Settings → Data → Export.
10. No warranty; limitation of liability
Text7 is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you have paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim (which, while Text7 is free, is zero). We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost writing you did not export, provider charges on keys you connected, or decisions you make based on AI output.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll show a notice in the app or email account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use Text7 after that means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, and any dispute will be brought in the courts of San Diego County. Questions: dan@icon1agency.com or the support form.
Also read the privacy policy, which explains what we store and how to export or delete it.
